U.S. Army Europe Commanding General visits exercise Saber Strike 2013

A two-day visit of Commanding General Donald M. Campbell Jr to Latvia is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5.

During his visit Commanding General Donald M. Campbell Jr will meet the U.S. Ambassador to Latvia Mark Pekala, Latvian National Armed Forces Commander Lieutenant General Raimonds Graube, Saber Strike 2013 FTX Exercise Director Martins Liberts and the participants of the exercise. Lieutenant General Donald M. Campbell Jr will observe exercise events in Adazi training area.

Lieutenant General Donald M. Campbell Jr assumed command of the U.S. Army Europe on January 9, 2013 in Wiesbaden, Germany replacing the previous Commander Lieutenant General Mark Hertling.

As reported earlier, FTX phase of multinational exercise Saber Strike 2013 is taking place from June 3-14 in Adazi training area with the participation of more than 900 personnel from the United States, Estonia, Latvia, Great Britain and Lithuania and the involvement of the U.S. Air National Guard A-10 aircraft providing close air support to ground forces in coordination with the air controllers.
