Sentinel F1
“Sentinel F1” is a mobile tactical air defense and weapons control radar capable of identifying helicopters, airplanes, missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The National Armed Forces will use the “Sentinel” radars by connecting them to their existing short-range air defense missile system “RBS-70”, which is used to protect important objects and airspace, as well as for close support of military units in combat.
On August 5, 2016, two more mobile tactical air defense radars “Sentinel” were delivered to Latvia within the framework of the European Reassurance Initiative. In turn, on June 17, a ceremonial ceremony of donating the tactical radars “Sentinel” was held at the National Armed Forces Air Force Aviation Base in Lielvārde, during which the Latvian Armed Forces received the first two air defense radars from the United States.
