Regular training cycle to begin in eastern Latvia

A regular training cycle will begin in the eastern region of Latvia from March 9, which will continue throughout the year with the aim of strengthening comprehensive national defense and improving mutual cooperation between state security institutions.

During the training, the National Armed Forces will practice moving units to be able to protect Latvia in various conditions, at any place and time, as well as improve cooperation with the State Border Guard, the State Police and allies.

Joint training strengthens cooperation between institutions and improves the compatibility of the National Armed Forces with other security structures and allies, ensuring more effective implementation of national defense tasks.

In response to changing security challenges, the Latvian national defense system is being developed as a comprehensive one, based on the readiness of state institutions and society to overcome crises and strengthen resilience to external threats.
