NATO Senior and General Officers receive training in operational planning in Riga

From  3 to 15 September, NATO will host the Steadfast Pyramid 2023 and Steadfast Pinnacle 2023 operational planning exercises in Riga, which will bring together senior and senior officers from NATO Member States and partner nation Sweden.

The aim of Steadfast Pyramid and Steadfast Pinnacle is to improve the ability of senior and general officers and commanders to plan and conduct joint operations. 
Steadfast Pyramid 2023, which runs until 8 September, is the first part of the exercise organised by Allied Command Transformation and NATO Supreme Allied Command Europe. It is designed to help senior and senior officers improve their staff planning skills.

The second part of the exercise, Steadfast Pinnacle 2023, will take place from 10 to 15 September and will include training of senior commanders in operational planning.

Steadfast Pyramid and Steadfast Pinnacle have been held in Latvia since 2011. During the exercise, Latvia improves host nation support capabilities and skills to engage with other NATO members and strategic regional partners.
