From February 21 to 28, 2025, the NATO Multinational Brigade Latvia will conduct Exercise OAK RESOLVE in Ādaži Military Base. Exercise OAK RESOLVE is a Brigade-led exercise focused on evaluating the combat readiness of the Multinational Battlegroup Latvia.

This exercise highlights the importance of maintaining high levels of combat readiness to effectively deter potential adversaries.

This first iteration marks several significant milestones, including the first combat readiness evaluation led by the Brigade, the first combat readiness evaluation Canada conducts outside its borders, and Sweden's first exercise as a NATO member. These milestones underscore the growing collaboration and unity within the Alliance.

“Through rigorous evaluation and multinational cooperation, the Brigade keeps demonstrating its ability to maintain high levels of readiness and operational effectiveness. Our commitment to collective defense and the security of NATO’s Eastern Flank is unwavering,” says Colonel Cédric Aspirault, Commander of Multinational Brigade Latvia.

Exercise OAK RESOLVE will be supported by the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre which provides Observer Controller Trainers, Exercise Control, and Opposing Force troops to help enhance collective training and validate the readiness of forces.
Residents can expect increased noise levels during this period due to military training activities. These activities include mechanized maneuvers, defensive drills and air movement which are essential for the operational readiness. Rest assured that all necessary safety measures are in place to ensure the security of participants and local population.
