NATO exercise "Iron Spear" concluded
NATO’s “Iron Spear” exercise, which took place at the Ādaži training ground from November 17 to 21, has concluded. Tank and infantry fighting vehicle crews from the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia, as well as from NATO Multinational Battle Groups in Estonia and Lithuania, participated in the “Iron Spear” exercise. The three NATO force units deployed in the Baltic States improved their capabilities in a competitive format to effectively integrate the combat potential of heavy equipment to perform joint defense tasks. In total, crews from eleven NATO member states jointly performed tactical exercises and live fire tasks, demonstrating their high level of combat readiness and professionalism. The interoperability of allied forces was trained during the exercise, thus strengthening.
The ability of Alliance units to effectively carry out joint missions. “When our armored units from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania train side by side, we send a clear message: NATO is stronger in unity. Exercise Iron Spear demonstrates our close integration, when several countries have a single goal and a united commitment to protect the Baltic region and the Alliance as a whole,” said Colonel Christopher Reeves, Commander of the Multinational Brigade in Latvia. Tank and infantry fighting vehicle crews from the United States, Canada, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and France participated in Exercise Iron Spear. The participants in the exercise once again demonstrated their high level of readiness for united and decisive action, ensuring NATO’s collective defense and sending a clear message of deterrence.
