The National Armed Forces Participated in the Military Exercise "Northern Coasts 2024"

From September 14 to 22, the international military exercise “Northern Coasts 2024,” organized by the German Navy, took place in the Baltic Sea. The aim of the exercise was to enhance combat skills and strengthen cooperation between NATO member states, to improve overall security in the Baltic Sea region.

Alongside Latvian soldiers and National Guard troops, the exercise “Northern Coasts 2024” involved 15 ships, one submarine, four military aircraft, and approximately 1,000 soldiers from the United States, Denmark, France, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, and Germany.

The exercise was led by the German Navy Headquarters, located in Rostock, Germany.
The activity demonstrated the cooperation and combat readiness of NATO member states, reinforcing the principles of NATO collective defense and promoting deterrence.
Military exercises in the Baltic Sea have been held regularly since 2007.
